The HPD Builder is an interactive online tool built and maintained by HPDC to facilitate the creation and publishing of an HPD. It guides manufacturers to enter data, perform hazard screening, and format HPD reports to help ensure compliance with the HPD Open Standard.  The HPD Builder is always updated with the Current Version of the HPD Open Standard, so manufacturers can be assured their HPD reports will be compliant with the current Standard.

The HPD Builder is designed to current HPD Open Standard requirements and utilizes HBN Pharos Chemical Material Library (CML) to provide reliable substance and hazard information.

The HPD Builder is the easiest way to publish an HPD report.  Certification systems, such as LEED and WELL, require the use of published HPDs for documentation.  Once a manufacturer has completed the data entry for an HPD, they can use the publish feature of the HPD Builder to perform required data quality and completeness checks, as well as pre-check for compliance for 3rd party programs.  At this time the 3rd party pre-checks available are: LEED v4, Building Products Disclosure and Optimization Credit: Material Ingredients, Options 1 and 2.

HPDs are published to the HPD Public Repository, an archive database and search tool provided by HPD Collaborative.  The HPD Public Repository is the only authoritative source for published HPDs and is freely available to the public.  HPD Collaborative provides an automated data feed of published HPDs to popular libraries, such as mindful MATERIALS, Ecomedes and Sustainable Minds, saving manufacturers the time and trouble of hosting and distributing completed HPD reports.

Use of the HPD Builder is a free benefit to HPDC members and can be used on a subscription (pay-per-use) basis for non-members.
