Products with Health Product Declarations may contribute towards satisfying features under the WELL Building Standard v1. in the Air and Mind categories.  

Feature 25: Toxic material reduction

Project typologies: New and Existing Buildings and New and Existing Interiors

Requirement: MR credit: Building Product Disclosure and Optimization – Material Ingredients (Option 2)


Feature 26: Enhanced Material Safety
Project typologies: New and Existing Buildings and New and Existing Interiors
Requirement: At least 25% of products by cost (including furnishings, built-in furniture, all interior finishes and  finish materials) have no GreenScreen® Benchmark 1, List Translator 1 or List Translator Possible 1 substances over 1,000 ppm, as verified by a qualified Ph.D. toxicologist or Certified Industrial Hygienist.


Feature 97: Material Transparency

Project typologies: New and Existing Buildings, New and Existing Interiors and Core and Shell

Requirement: At least 50% (as measured by cost) of interior finishes and finish materials, furnishings (including workstations) and

built-in furniture have Health Product Declaration, any method accepted in USGBC's LEED v4 MR credit: Building Product Disclosure and

Optimization - Material Ingredients, Option 1: material ingredient reporting.


In addition, VOC emissions certifications reported on section 3 may also contribute towards satisfying feature 04: VOC reduction.
