If VOC content is different for grouped products on a single HPD, a preparer should report the product with the highest VOC content in the HPD Builder under VOC Content Data, and record all other VOC content in the Material/Substance Notes. 


Multiple products may only be grouped together on a single HPD if the following apply:


  • the products serve a similar function; AND
  • the products have identical content OR the content differences between the products or product types account for 10% or less of the total mass of each product (with the exception described in 3.1.1); AND
  • all information provided in HPD Format Section 3: Certifications and Compliance [See 2.3] applies to each product listed, including same program or type of certification and the same level of certification. The products do not need to be included in a single certification document to meet this requirement. If there are multiple certifications covering the products, multiple certifications can be included.
